A common problem faced by many users on many new WordPress installations is an invisibility to upload files beyond a certain size, while going forwards it’s important to consider file size on uploads on of the first things you will need to upload is a theme package, and these tend to be quite large.
To get round this you will need to log into cPanel, if your hosting does not come with cPanel you may have to contact your hosting provider for specific instructions.
Once logged into cPanel, scroll down to the software panel.
Here you will find on option to “Select PHP version”, click this and proceed to the next screen.
At the top right of the “PHP selector” screen click “Switch to PHP Options”
The last option on the next screen will be “upload_max_filesize” set this to a more appropriate size and click “Save”
